Digestive EnzymesDigestive enzymes that we are born with occur naturally in
the body and their purpose is to aid the food enzymes in digestion. Digestive
enzymes most commonly known are secreted from the pancreas into the stomach and
small intestine. They are protease, which breaks down proteins, amylase for
breaking down carbohydrates, lipase for the breakdown of fats, and cellulase for
fiber. Digestive enzymes are killed when cooking our food at over
118 degrees. The same is true for micro-waving and processing foods. We can eat
all the healthy food and take all the vitamins and supplements we want but
unless the enzymes are there they are not very effective in maintaining a
healthy body. Almost all degenerative diseases stem
from a lack of complete digestion and improper elimination of what we ingest
into our bodies.
