NOW EPA / Omega 3 Category
| Omega-3 - The myth that all fats are bad for
you has been dispelled due to research into
Omega-3 and other essential fatty acids. This
combination of essential fatty acids (EFAs)
includes DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic
acid) is found in fresh deepwater fish, fish
oil, and various vegetable oils, including
canola and flaxseed. These types of fat are
necessary for overall health. Omega-3 EFAs
support normal cholesterol metabolism and
beneficially affect triglyceride levels. High
concentrations of EFAs are found in the brain,
where they support brain growth and development
and the transmission of nerve impulses. EFAs are
also important for healthy skin and hair. |
