Phenibut is
structurally similar to the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, but it more
effectively crosses the blood-brain barrier. Phenibut
(beta-phenyl-gamma-amino-butyric acid HCl). Phenibut is a neuropsychotropic
supplement It has anxiolytic and nootropic (cognition enhancing) effects. It
acts as a GABA-mimetic, primarily at GABA(B) and, to some extent, at GABA(A)
receptors. It also stimulates dopamine receptors and antagonizes
beta-phenethylamine (PEA), a putative endogenous anxiogenic.
Phenibut lowers stress and has a tranquilizing effect while simultaneously
increasing focus concentration.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement take 1 to 2 capsules daily with a
glass of water and food.
