Shingles, also called herpes zoster, is caused by one
of the herpes viruses by the name of varicella zoster virus.
It’s the same virus that causes chicken pox. Blisters form on
the skin along certain nerves and can be extremely painful
and potentially contagious. For some people the pain is severe
and the blisters spread over large areas of the body forming a
patch of reddish, purplish sores.

Shing-RELEEV^™,  a topical antiseptic,  is new and may be a
real help in dealing with this painful rash.  Shing-RELEEV^™ is
comprised of benzalkonium chloride (an organic chloride salt)
and botanical ingredients. No known toxicity.

Benzalkonium chloride is listed as an OTC antimicrobial skin
wound cleanser. The botanicals are soothing.
