The fruit of
Pomegranate is rich in potent polyphenolic antioxidants, particularly
ellagitannins: Punicalagins, Punicalin, and Gallic Acid, etc. Punicalagins
are unique polyphenols that are found most abundantly in Pomegranate juice.
They are therefore viewed as ideal markers for Pomegranate derived products.
Punicalagins are metabolized into Ellagic Acid after consumption, and they
are considered to be an ‘adoptic' precursor for Ellagic Acid, which is only
present at low levels (around 1%) as free Ellagic Acid in Pomegranate fruit.
Pomegranate helps keep your circulatory system healthy, and contains
antioxidants which help neutralize free radicals that may damage cells.
Antioxidants also play a key role in promoting cardiovascular health.* |
