L-Huperzine A is an extract of the Chinese club moss Huperzia serrata. In
China it is called Qian Ceng Ta and has been used for centuries. Each capsule
contains 100 mcg of L-Huperzine A. Other ingredients are microcrystalline
cellulose and gelatin capsule.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Huperzine A is an alkaloid isolated from the Chinese Club Moss Huperzia
serrata. L-Huperzine A is the natural form of Huperzine A and is 3 times more
potent than synthetic forms.
Huperzine A is a potent acetylcholine esterase inhibitor. Acetylcholine is a
neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning. Acetylcholine esterase breaks
it down. By inhibiting this process it increases the amount of acetylcholine in
the brain which has been shown to increase memory and learning performance in
humans.
